What does this computer error mean?

I just installed a program onto my computer via a disk that came with an old laptop I had. The program was installed onto that laptop as well. The program installed fine, but when I opened it and attempted to edit a picture with it, I got this error:

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Picture It! 2002\pip.exe

abnormal program termination

When I click "OK" the program closes. It does this each time I try to select a picture to edit. Could this be because the program was already installed onto another computer? I thought it would be alright since it was on an install CD. Any clues what this means and how I can fix it?

What does this computer error mean?
it might not be compatible with your new operation system or you can try to reinstall it. Another thing if you use Windows Vista on your new computer and this software came from Widnwos xp or 2000 about 80% chances it will not work on vista.
Reply:Under control panel, go to Add/Remove Programs, and remove the software you just installed. Then do a full scan with an Anti Virus program, and addware program such as add-aware, which is free for personal use. Might be an idea to do a scan disk and defrag, these can be found under the properties - tools of your hard drive.

You should also run Windows update, and install any updates it finds before and after reinstalling the software.

After all this, reinstall the program, and hopefully the error should have gone. Good Luck!
Reply:means your screwed....reformat the pc or take it to geek squad...good luck
Reply:I would imagine your VB Runtime library is out of date, get the latest version from microsoft... just go to their site and type vbruntime ... or use a search engine...
