Help running an installed program needed - runtime error!?

I recently downloaded your free trial to Crossword Maestro. However, upon running the installed file, it never works.

The software installation runs without any hitches, but when running the program, at the stage where it needs to prepare the knowledge base for first use, I always get an error immediately saying:

"Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Genius 2000\CMt\cm.exe

abnormal program termination"

which then upon clicking OK (the only option) quits the program without going any further. This happens all the time, and I have downloaded the software multiple times with the same effects.

Can anyone help with this? I run Windows XP and have a good spec computer.

Thanks!

A couple of thing could have been going wrong here:

- Your installation data can be corrupted. Sometimes when the installation data is corrupted you get error only in the installed program and not in the setup itself. You said your program crashes when it tries to build knowledge base; it is very likely that the knowledge base data is corrupted.

- Or the program is trying to access some folder or files that it doesn't have rights to access. This is rare, but it could happen if you're using folder/file locking programs like Folder Guard, or PC Security, and you have certain restrictions on common folders like your user directory.

Just to be sure try to install this program in some other computer.
