Computer help please?

Im getting a message that says Microsoft C++ Runtime Library.


Buffer overrun detected!


Program C://WINDOWS/explorer.exe and Im also getting script error messages with add ons.


Why is this happening and what is it? I ran virus scan, defragmented hard drive, cleaned hard drive, and deleted cookies. I have McAfee and people recommend Norton over that. Help please!

buffer overflow is a tactic of viruses, worms, trojans or other malware to execute evil instructions. if a very long string is wriiten during an input request and the long string is transferred to memory, and- through some technique - some part of the string is executed as if it was a program, you basically have a buffer overflow attack.





what causes this i can't say. look in the event log, clear your browser cache.





did you install a spyware detector/sweeper? Microsoft windows defender is a free download. webroot makes a commercial version that is pretty good. spyware/malware may be trying to attack but a virus scanner will not look for such evils.
Reply:clear your browser cache as follows: in IE7, tools (the gear) - delete browsing history. In IE6, tools - properties - on the main page you see delete files/history/cookies. at the moment Norton 2007 (or 360) is the best but by no means the only good one. Report It

if that doesent work then get a prodect called regcure it fixes all the eroors in ur comp
